Wanted: Leadership for the Friends of Fulton Public Library

Retired? Civic minded?  Looking for a way to contribute to your community?  The Friends of Fulton Library is looking for leadership.  Friends groups are volunteer organizations dedicated to supporting the library's mission.  They are vocal advocates for the library in the community-at-large and help with fundraising activities for the library.  The Fulton Public Library is currently raising funds through our capital campaign to help restore our historic library and we can use your help to keep our Friends organization moving forward.  For more information contact the library.

Kids Make Summer Reading Program a Hit

The library would like to thank all the children, parents, and entertainers for making the 2016 summer reading program a real success.  Children enjoyed story hours, crafts, science programs, art activities, animal programs, a book club, and much more.  Attendance and enrollment were both up this year.  We had over 1200 visitors to our programs and, most importantly, the children of Fulton read an incredible amount of books!  We hope to see some familiar faces and new faces—so stop in the library whenever you can.

AmeriCorps at the FPL

The Library’s Teen Summer Book Club recently volunteered in a community involvement clean-up project around the library. The teens and preteens involved helped clean up trash, trim trees, spread mulch, and weed around the library.

The project enhanced the Library in cleanliness and appearance; and also, assisted in preparing the building for future construction work.
