Every Child Ready to Read
Join us with your children at the library on Fridays (10-11 AM) for the Every Child Ready to Read program. This six week program focuses on developing early literacy skills in children 3-5 years old. Each session focuses on a key early literacy skill including: narrative skills, letter knowledge, print awareness, phonological awareness, print motivation, and vocabulary. The sessions are designed to be informative (and fun) for both parents and children. Research has shown that stong early literacy skills can often lead to future success in other types of learning. The program will run on May 13, 20, and 27 and June 3, 10, and 17. Parents may register their children by calling 592-5159, stopping by the library, or attending a session. This free program will be taught by Kathy Ross King who has over 40 years of experience as an author and educator.
